A girl worth celebrating!

This month we got to celebrate the birthday of a very special little girl. She is the daughter of our best friends from college. Her name is Waverly and she is beautiful, delightful, and deeply loved. You can meet her yourself at http://waverlysjourney.blogspot.com/ Her life is a testimony to God's grace and lovingkindness!

My kids have doted on Waverly since she was a wee baby. Chase was always very cautious and protective and loves to pat her and pray for her. Sophie, as you can see in the photos, was all up in Waverly's grill! She loves babies and persistently tried to give Waverly her paci and even tries to say Waverly's name.

Some of our dear college friends came in to celebrate Waverly's birthday and some even met her for the first time! So it was extra special! (We did miss the Jordans, Nolls, and Dr. France though.)
Here's the birthday girl!

effengee (yep that was our JMU group nickname. That or the sheep suite):
Cristen, Jrob, Newnam, Naomi, Me

This was only 4 of the 8 kiddos that joined us for the after-party at the park!
We got to meet little Jordan for the first time! She and Sophie were instant buddies!

Newnam, how I wished we lived closer!
So grateful to God for you amazing ladies. Thank you for traveling to celebrate Waverly!

Mother's Day

This one is my favorite!
Thanks to hubby for helping us capture this special day. I am looking forward to my 60 min Essentials Massage and am already using my owl cellphone holder! Whoot!
And I got out of washing the stinky bulldog!

Road Trip to Indy!

It was long overdue that we visit our dear friends in Indy! Instead of captions, I will do a photo dump and let the pix speak for themselves. We had such a sweet time with them and the kids were so content to play together. We got to spend Easter there, go to church, meet some of their friends, have a girls night and a guy's night, take the kids to the bounce house, and go to a ridiculously cool zoo! We hiked (well okay, toddler version) and saw waterfalls, exotic flowers, and we even hit the state high point! Indiana: CHECK!

Today's funnies

Sophie: (noticing a man walking right by her swing) Mama! Mama! He nakey! He NAKEY!
Me: Uh huh. (hoping that the streetwalker without a shirt on didn't notice my 1 yr old calling him out for being half naked! Chase also asked me why the teenage girl in the youtube Zumba video didn't have any pants on!! Guess short shorts might as well be no shorts. Perhaps they are cluing into modesty at an early age?)

Me: Chase- Is Sophie still awake? (as we almost arrive home in our car)
Chase: No. I think she's sleeping... with her eyes open. (Sophie was in finger-sucking, hair-twirling mode. See below for reference.)
Chase: Mom can I turn on my buffalo?
Me: Your what?
Chase: My buffalo. YOU KNOW! That plays CDs.
(His stereo. How he got stereo and buffalo mixed up I don't know.)

(Upon noticing how Zoe chews up her treats and half of it goes in the floor)
Sophie: Uh oh!
Me: What Sophie?
Sophie: She don't yiiiike it!
Me: No, she does. Zoe is just a messy eater.

Chase: Zoe, come! Go lay in your bed. Don't you want to lay in your new bed?

(Can you imagine WHY Zoe wouldn't want to lay in her new bed? ha! ha! Poor dog.)
