You did a whole marathon?

Well, no! Not all by myself.

WE completed a full marathon. Together. As a team. The "Sole Sistas."
Our shirts said "See mom. See mom run. See mom keep running." I even had a lady cheer "GO MOM GO" as I passed her!
I'd like to think I look bow-legged b/c I'm kicking it into high gear after 5+ miles up Mill mountain! Or perhaps my legs really are shaped like that and no one ever mentioned it.

Cristen waiting for me to cross. (Thanks Erica for taking!) Don't you love how each teammate looks like they standing in a rainbow. I don't think they planned it, however tu-tu girl was planned. Mad props to running up Roanoke Mtn Loop with a tu-tu. Still proud of Cristen for running the hardest leg (LEG #2). It mighta been short, but it was killer!

Cristen smiling with me once I finished LEG #1 and she finished LEG #2!

Here goes Erica for LEG #3. ( I felt blessed that I got to have my teammates cheer me on at the start, then as I finished, then I got to see Cristen and Erica and also Brooke finish. I got to see 4 out of 5 teammates race! And even got to see hubby. And his answer to your question is: YES. He did the FULL (all by himself... and 300 other full marathoners.)
I wanted to run along side him for a photo. I know. I'm a dork.

Here we are waiting for Brooke to bring it home (LEG 5)!
GO SOLE SISTA! Drum roll please!

Here we are holding up what leg we ran! I love this photo! Thanks Sole Sistas for inspiring me to run up Mill Mtn in 46 min 22 sec. Not bad for 5.4mi at 30 yrs old! Ehmm I mean 30 yrs young with 75yr old knees.

Sometimes Chase takes a little time to warm up...

... I usually have to kiss and tickle it out of him.

A girl worth celebrating!

This month we got to celebrate the birthday of a very special little girl. She is the daughter of our best friends from college. Her name is Waverly and she is beautiful, delightful, and deeply loved. You can meet her yourself at http://waverlysjourney.blogspot.com/ Her life is a testimony to God's grace and lovingkindness!

My kids have doted on Waverly since she was a wee baby. Chase was always very cautious and protective and loves to pat her and pray for her. Sophie, as you can see in the photos, was all up in Waverly's grill! She loves babies and persistently tried to give Waverly her paci and even tries to say Waverly's name.

Some of our dear college friends came in to celebrate Waverly's birthday and some even met her for the first time! So it was extra special! (We did miss the Jordans, Nolls, and Dr. France though.)
Here's the birthday girl!

effengee (yep that was our JMU group nickname. That or the sheep suite):
Cristen, Jrob, Newnam, Naomi, Me

This was only 4 of the 8 kiddos that joined us for the after-party at the park!
We got to meet little Jordan for the first time! She and Sophie were instant buddies!

Keith's initiation into the group

Newnam, how I wished we lived closer!
So grateful to God for you amazing ladies. Thank you for traveling to celebrate Waverly!

Love this one! Look at those toothies! Happy birthday, Waverly!!

Mother's Day

This one is my favorite!
Thanks to hubby for helping us capture this special day. I am looking forward to my 60 min Essentials Massage and am already using my owl cellphone holder! Whoot!
And I got out of washing the stinky bulldog!
